NCEPU has two campuses in Beijing and Baoding, and now has about 3,000 faculty members, over 20,000 full-time undergraduate students and nearly 10,000 post-graduate students. It covers an area of over 1,600 acres with floorage of over 1 million square meters. NCEPU was founded in 1958 in Beijing, jointly administrated by the Ministry of Education and the university Council. The Council involves 12 state owned companies, including State Grid Corporation of China, etc. Over the past century, NCEPU has undertaken the historic mission of cultivating highly competent talents for the country's energy and power industry and promoting scientific and technological progress in this field. Upon the entry of the new century, NCEPU has upheld the principle of “establishing the university by disciplinary construction, strengthening the university by talents cultivation, thriving the university through scientific research, and developing the university with distinctive characteristics”. NCEPU has seized development opportunities and achieved great progress. NCEPU has 15 schools, totally 67 undergraduate majors, including the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, School of Energy Power and Mechanical Engineering, School of Control and Computer Engineering, School of Economics and Management, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, School of New Energy, School of Hydraulic and Hydropower Engineering, etc. All these forms a complete system to train undergraduates, masters, and doctorate students. Relying on the university council, NCEPU has constantly deepened the university-industry-research cooperation and reached strategic cooperation relations with about 100 large domestic and overseas energy and power enterprises to jointly undertake important researches and development projects to accelerate exploitation and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements. It has successively obtained two titles of Special Contribution Unit of Demonstration Project for Ultra-high Voltage Alternating and Direct Current Experiment of State Grid Corporation of China. NCEPU has constructed the multifaceted university-industry-research cooperation platform, and signed framework cooperation agreement with more than 20 local governments to deepen cooperation on strategic emerging industries and achieved great progress on promoting local economic development. NCEPU is an active participator in the promotion of interscholastic cooperation, and as the major sponsor it has participated in establishing the Beijing High-Tech Universities Alliance for complementary advantages and resource sharing and encourage cooperative innovation among universities. The university has been engaged in the internationalized education, and developed substantive communication and cooperation with about 140 internationally renowned universities and research institutes. Meanwhile, it has established the credit transfer and recognition system with partner universities and set up programs of regular student exchange, scientific research cooperation and experts reciprocal visits. NCEPU has actively implemented the Belt and Road Initiative and foreign aid training programs. Bachelor Program Introduction Bachelor study period is 4-6 years. Overview of the University Entrance Examination Starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, applicants who apply for undergraduate programs must take the examination before submitting their applications. The examination score shall be one of the essential materials for each institution to review and make admission decisions. 2. Subjects of the University Entrance Examination The examination consists of 4 subjects: Professional Chinese, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. - Students choosing the major of Business Administration must take a mathematics examination. -Students choosing the majors of Electrical Engineering and Its Automation, Energy and Power Engineering, and New Energy Science and Engineering are required to take the mathematics and physics examinations. 3. Examination Information For specific information about examination centers, please refer to the official announcements on the website (www.csca.cn). Financial certification requirements : In order to ensure that students can smoothly cover their study and living expenses during the school, the university requires all applicants to submit valid bank deposit proof along with the application materials. This proof should show that the applicant or his sponsor has sufficient financial means to support the applicant's estimated expenses throughout the study period, including but not limited to tuition, accommodation, living expenses and other expenses that may be incurred. Chinese Language Program Introduction International Education Institute offers Chinese language program of different levels on a Small Class basis. Accommodation The rooms are air-conditioned and furnished with a wardrobe, chair and a private Bathroom. The balcony of the rooms in dorm 13 has an operable kitchen, equipped with a smoke discharge machine.
